It is a fact that we all have to take on board to ensure we give the earth back to future generations in a state fit to inhabit. It is our responsibility to help support what I like to call the 'Green Revolution' - a time when we as individuals assume responsibility for our planet's condition and take appropriate action to fix the problems we have collectively caused.

Today, about 350 km2 of forest will be cleared for either agriculture, the logging industry, mining or for energy development. Over the course of a year this amounts to roughly the size of Greece.

Although, foundations like Arbor Day are doing a amazing things to equalise the effects of deforestation - a lot still needs to be done.

Even with the help of organisations like Arbor Day the net loss of forest area is about 200 km2 a day.
